Rigzone has developed a unique database of oil and gas field developments. Through
Field Development Database (FDD), you can track fields from geological prospect to
drilled discovery to abandonment. FDD is unique in that it utilizes the RigLogix
mobile rig database to track a prospect very closely during the drilling phase.
Rigzone helps to keep you informed during exploratory drilling and appraisal drilling
operations to give you the most advance notice possible of new discoveries and their
viability.
The Rigzone Team mines nuggets of information from corporate websites, press releases,
and interviews with operators to get the latest status on each field in the Gulf
of Mexico. All of this information is loaded into FDD on a daily basis and published
via GOMExplorer. Below you will find a list of database fields we track, map screenshots,
and example reports.
Field Development Database Fields
- Field Name
- Primary Operator
- Lease Owners with equity percentage
- Block location (i.e. - Alaminos Canyon 856)
- Water Depth
- Reserve and Production Statistics
- Field Status - GOMExplorer tracks each field from geologic
discovery (Bright Spot) through the drilling phase to production and abandonment.
- Field Activities - As new information is obtained via
press releases or interviews, an activity log for the field is updated and published
in GOMExplorer.
All information is obtained from publicly available information sources or directly
from interviews with operators. Each update is fully documented and verified before
it is made available within GOMExplorer.
